Rugarama Hospital is a Church founded private not for profit hospital under the Diocese of Kigezi, Church of Uganda, with 150 in-patient bed capacity. The Hospital started as Health Centre II on top of the hill in 1983 now 30 years ago…

The hospital is in Kabale town on Rugarama Road off Kisoro Road. Kabale is situated in the south-west corner of Uganda, a beautiful hilly area known as the ‘’the Switzerland of Africa’’ It is 440 Km from Kampala about 8 hours drive by road. Kabale town has a population slightly over 60,000 and the entire district a population of around 600,000. The hospital has In Patients of all ages with a bed capacity of 150 patients and sometimes more, it has very active Out Patient departments dealing with general medicine including HIV and AIDS, and specialized clinics of dental and eye care with a total of over 120 patients per day. We run an out reach program to 42 out reach centres (villages and schools) all located in hard to reach areas all over Kabale district.
